For almost 10 years, I have been using non-stick pans for frying and making pancakes. Although I heard it's not safe, I still loved my non-stick pan until just recently. Now, I'm obsessed in finding the right and safe cookware (and dinnerware) for my family. To my surprise, it is really an expensive and quite tedious task.

Few years back, I do not really care much about my skin. I'm contented with the simple wash-toner regimen. Then I noticed the frequent flaking of my skin. It was annoying because after applying a thin layer of face powder, my skin became dry and patches of skin was all over my face. Ewwww!
Then I tried HN's day moisturizer. I apply a pea-size amount after taking a bath. It gives my face just the right glow and keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day. I also use it as base before applying my favorite compact powder. Another good thing is that even though I have oily skin, it doesn't make my face super oily. Just a gentle dab of kleenex on my T-zone and we're good to go. Because of the positive effect of HN's day moisturizer, I then tried their Night Moisturizer with Jojoba & Plant collagen. Guess what? My skin love it too! I apply about 2 pumps every night and noticed a youthful glow in the morning. My face seems brighter and clearer. I love them more because they're: -100% natural -not so creamy and easy to apply -inexpensive -enriched with vitamins and minerals -lightly scented Will I repurchase? Yes! Yes! Yes! :) Note: Different people may have different reactions to natural products Where to buy? www.facebook.com/CharmsTiesGoodies IG: @charmstiesgoodies Review: Nourishing Lavender Shampoo and Strengthening Peppermint Conditioner by Avalon Organics10/17/2015 When I first tried AO's Lavender shampoo, I didn't apply conditioner and I was really impressed with the results. My hair felt smoother, softer and lighter.
Here's what it says on the website: "CLAIM TO FAME: An all-natural formula that cleanses, nourishes, and calms lackluster locks FAST FACTS: 100% vegetarian ingredients; enriched with lavender, wheat protein, aloe, and vitamins; free from parabens, preservatives, synthetic colors and fragrances, phthalates, and sodium lauryl; not tested on animals; purifies without drying; makes hair softer, smoother, and silkier from the inside out PERFECT FOR: Normal to dry hair in need of some healing hydration" Since it is made from natural/vegan ingredients, there's still that squeeky, sticky feel when rinsing. But after combing and letting my hair dry on its own, I cant resist touching my hair all the time. The best natural shampoo yet! What I love love love: -no need to apply conditioner (I also bought AO's Peppermint Conditioner but haven't tried it yet) -free from parabens and preservatives -no synthetic colors and fragrances -free from phthalates and sodium lauryl -calming lavender scent -not tested on animals -with expiration date What I don't love much: -quite expensive and not easily accessible Will I repurchase? It's a big YES! Even though I normally rotate shampoo, this will be a main-stay in my staple. I'm still searching for one more nice shampoo to alternate with this. Here's another reason for your kids to enjoy bath time. These bubbly, yummy-scented soaps truely work like a charm in getting our kids clean and fresh all day. Available in Gummy Berry and Chocolate Adventure scents.
What we love: -Gummy Berry scent -SLES-free -keeps skin moisturized -easy to rinse -inexpensive -with expiration date On the other hand, I didn't like the Chocolate Adventure scent. For me, it has a very subtle chocolate scent but kinda made my toddler smell maasim after school. Tip: Since these soaps melt quickly, you can cut the soap in half so it can last longer. I don't go out much but I really love buying lippies !LOL! Check out HN's Mineral ColorCreme Lipstick with 6 shades you'll surely love: Crimson Glaze (brick red, shiny finish) Coral Kiss (peachy coral) Passion candy (rose mauve) Coral Charm (nude peach) Pink Smoothie (light pink) Lucky in Love (red brown, satin finish) I tried Coral Charm first. What's to love? -100% natural -highly pigment -rich & creamy -glides smoothly -no funky lipstick smell -non-drying -inexpensive What I don't like much: -only lasts about 2-4 hours -a bit hard to open Tip: If you don't like a shiny finish, just smack your lips on a tissue for a semi-matte finish
Will I repurchase? Yes! I will try Pink Smoothie next :) Note: Different people may have different reactions to natural products Where to buy? www.facebook.com/CharmsTiesGoodies IG: @charmstiesgoodies I am a sucker for herby, fresh, clean, spa-like scents, so when I saw HN's soaps, I was excited to try each of them. Bathing really makes me relax so it is crucial for me to have a scented soap (and shampoo.. and conditioner). These three hit the jackpot! I love all of them so I can't tell which one is my favorite. What I do is cut the bar in half since they melt quickly, and rotate them every after (half) bar. The way I felt every time I use them is exactly how they were described in HN's website: "If you’re looking for just the right kick of citrus to invigorate your mind and stimulate your senses, hit the showers with our Lemon Zest Cleansing Bar. Craving a fresh, clean scent to get all that good energy flowing? Aloe Fresh is your perfect match. If you’re after a balanced sense of calm and well-being, then suds up with Lavender Mint. And if you want that crisp, clean scent of clothes fresh out of the dryer, try Clean Cotton. Whichever you choose, you can be sure that our cleansing bars are perfectly gentle on your skin. They’re cold-processed to retain their natural glycerin, which helps keep your skin soft and supple. Here’s a bonus: cold-processing consumes less energy and produces less waste." And great news, they have a new scent! Clean Cotton! I can't wait to try it too :) What's to love? -BHT and EDTA-free -no artificial colors -easy to rinse -doesn't dry my skin -doesn't sting my eyes -inexpensive -really nice packaging -Philippine-made -earth-friendly -cruelty-free -with expiry date Bonus: Human Heart Nature now carries an eco-friendly Marsse Sustainably-made Soap Dish. It is designed to help our all-natural soaps last longer. Note: Different people may have different reactions to natural products

I ditched 90% of my commercial makeups (sold some of them since they are still almost full). It's not that easy because nakakahinayang even though I only had the not-so-expensive brands. Let's start with HN's Tinted Lip balm. It's 100% natural and available in three shades: Pink Orchid (pink) Flame Tree (red) Island Kiss (coral) I love coral shades so I tried Island Kiss. Here's some info from their website: "Get a hint of color and nourishment in one soothing lip balm! A feel-good blend of cocoa butter, beeswax and all-natural plant oils keeps your lips soft and moisturized all day. Did You Know? Cocoa butter's melting point is around 34-38°C, which is close to your normal body temperature. Because it melts upon contact with your lips, its emollient and moisturizing properties get delivered and absorbed into your skin easier." True to their claim, my lips stays moisturized all day. I love the minty feel and it is very pigmented, you can even use it alone if you are tinatamad to put lipstick :) It is quite glittery but doesn't bother me at all :) Tip: Use it as a base before applying your regular lipstick to keep your lips moisturized. Will I repurchase? Yes! I will try Pink Orchid next :) Bonus: HN also has a 100% Natural Lip Balm in Peppermint, Wild Berry, and Cherry. I use Cherry for my daughter and she loves the scent. It also cured her dry, chapped lips. Definitely our holy grail. But with these pleasant-smelling shampoo and body wash, say goodbye to delaying tactics, chasing and tears.
Human Nature's Kids Natural Shampoo is the first natural shampoo I tried for my kids. My daughter loves both scents, she said they smell like frutos candy and their vitamin C! Yummy isn't it? Likes: -no harmful chemicals -long lasting scent -cleans the hair and body -doesn't dry the skin and hair -has a Protein Care System that helps keep our child’s hair healthy and soft & supple skin Dislikes: None :) After a month of continued use, I noticed the healthy shine on my kids' hair, plus my daughter's hair is now soft and easy to comb :) Note: Different people may have different reactions to natural products Where to buy? www.facebook.com/CharmsTiesGoodies IG: @charmstiesgoodies Few months ago, I ran into my colleagues blog. After knowing how quick our skin absorbs anything we put on it, I told myself I should start reading the labels and not just rely on the brand. So, I decided to replace every commercial beauty product in my bathroom and vanity. It's not as easy as 1-2-3, I did it gradually. How I ditched commercial stuff for good My first step to going all natural/organic was to replace my bathroom essentials. It was quite easy to look for natural shampoo, conditioner and soap (and lotion) since I normally rotate and try new brands one after the other. I reviewed my routine and made a checklist of products to replace. Good thing almost all of my commercial beauty products are almost empty and I didn't have a difficult time throwing them away. Then I took a close look at my beauty regimen and listed down what needs to be replaced. I also included products I use for my family. Here's a sample of my checklist: Bath -shampoo -conditioner -body soap -feminine wash Face & Body Care -facial wash -toner -moisturizer -lotion -deodorant Makeup -face powder -blush on -lipstick -lip balm Family -shampoo -body soap -lotion -toothpaste -soothing balm It's quite a long list, but after about 3 months of using natural beauty products, I felt the difference on my skin. Even my family loved the products and are really excited to try other variants and brands of all-natural products. Some of my haul I bought from Human Heart Nature
Did you know? The lather we get from most shampoos is very likely created by chemical surfactants like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) – which have been found to irritate the skin and pollute the environment.
Good thing Human Nature developed this shampoo and I quote: "Allow your hair to breathe free from chemical shampoos and styling products, environmental heat and stress with our 100% Natural Clarifying Shampoo! Another groundbreaking formulation straight from our Natural Care Labs, its luxuriously foamy lather rivals those of chemical shampoos – without the risk to your health or Mother Earth. All-natural fruit acids help eliminate build-up and impurities while betaine and aloe vera soothe your scalp and moisturize your strands for hair that’s light, bouncy, and oh-so-soft!" So how come it is foamy even though they used natural ingredients? HN instead use coco fatty acid sulfates – natural sulfates that give you rich lather equal to the foaminess of SLS/SLES but are non-toxic, fully biodegradable and proudly manufactured in the Philippines. Amazing, isn't it? What I love about it: -foamy -cleans my hair and scalp -very mild and doesn't sting my eyes What I don't love much about it: -a bit drying to the hair (so I only use it twice a week and use a natural conditioner after) Overall, this shampoo is very refreshing. Because of its lather, my hair feels light and clean without the fear of chemical build-up.
